Moradabad, July 26 — In a decisive crackdown on objectionable online content, police in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad district have arrested a YouTuber identified as Mohammad Amir for allegedly posting obscene and inflammatory videos on his channel. After being presented before a local court, Amir was remanded to judicial custody.

The arrest comes after the Pakbada police station received multiple complaints about explicit and provocative content being regularly uploaded to Amir’s YouTube channel. Following an investigation, police confirmed the allegations and swiftly took action against the content creator. Authorities have also announced that they are now pursuing others associated with Amir’s channel — particularly those involved in sharing and promoting his content.

Accusations of Spreading Vulgar and Inflammatory Videos

According to officials, Mohammad Amir had gained notoriety for posting sexually suggestive, vulgar, and provocative material, which often went viral with the help of his online collaborators. The complaint stated that Amir had been actively using his platform to distribute content that not only violated moral standards but also had the potential to stir public disorder.

City Superintendent of Police Ranvijay Singh confirmed the arrest, stating that the police had conducted a thorough inquiry after receiving multiple tips from the community. “It was found that Mohammad Amir, a resident of the Pakbada area, had been consistently uploading objectionable and inflammatory videos. Based on the findings, he was arrested and sent to jail under relevant legal provisions,” Singh said.

Police to Target Amir’s Online Network

The investigation does not end with Amir’s arrest. Police have announced that those involved in amplifying the reach of his content — including followers and team members — will also face legal consequences. Authorities emphasized that anyone found sharing or supporting such videos will be held accountable under the law.

This action follows a similar recent arrest of YouTuber Mehak Pari, suggesting that law enforcement agencies are intensifying their efforts to clean up digital platforms of indecent material. The crackdown sends a clear warning to content creators across India: uploading lewd, offensive, or socially disruptive material will not be tolerated and could lead to strict criminal action.

The police have also issued a public advisory urging citizens to report inappropriate content and cautioning that strong action will be taken against any individual who attempts to misuse social media for such purposes.

As the digital space continues to grow, authorities are signaling a zero-tolerance policy toward creators who cross ethical or legal boundaries — aiming to preserve both online decorum and public harmony.
