Very big news has come from Burkina Faso

The West African country of Burkina Faso has once again come under the grip of terrorism. On Monday, heavily armed terrorists attacked the Dargo military base located in the north-central region of the country, killing about 50 soldiers.

How did the attack happen?

The Boulsa province, which has been becoming a stronghold of terrorism in recent years, became the center of a fierce attack on Monday. About 100 terrorists riding on motorcycles and trucks suddenly attacked the Dargo military base. They surrounded the base from all sides and fired fiercely for hours, causing chaos and killing a large number of soldiers.

After the firing, the terrorists set fire to the military base and fled after looting the weapons, ammunition and other military material present there. This attack raises serious questions about the security system of the country.

Which organization is suspected?

Jamaat Nasr al-Islam wal-Muslimeen (JNIM) is suspected to be behind this attack. The organization is linked to al-Qaeda and is active in the Sahel region (Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger). JNIM has previously been accused of killing hundreds of civilians and soldiers.

Response from the government

So far, the military government of Burkina Faso has not officially confirmed the attack. However, preparations for retaliation by the army are being made, but no detailed information has been revealed yet.
