Top 10 Best-Selling Sedans in January 2025

The sedan segment in January 2025 did not perform as well as the hatchback and SUV categories. However, models like the new Honda Amaze, Skoda Slavia, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz played a crucial role in keeping the sedan market active. As expected, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire continued to dominate the segment, maintaining its position as the best-selling sedan. The latest Dzire has captivated Indian buyers with its impressive 5-star safety rating. Despite its popularity, sales of the Dzire witnessed an 8% decline compared to January last year, with 15,383 units sold.

Sedan Sales Performance in January 2025

Following the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the Hyundai Aura secured the second position with 5,388 units sold. However, it also experienced a sales drop of over 2%. The Honda Amaze, which ranked third, showed a promising 21% growth in sales last month. The Volkswagen Virtus, in fourth place, recorded an annual decline of approximately 4.5%. Meanwhile, the Skoda Slavia claimed the fifth spot, marking an impressive 21% year-over-year growth.

Tata Tigor, including its petrol, CNG, and electric variants, registered sales of 1,484 units, reflecting a 4% annual decline. Hyundai Verna followed closely, witnessing a significant 32% drop in sales. On the other hand, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz stood out with a remarkable 111% surge in its yearly sales figures. Honda City’s performance dipped by 34%, and the Toyota Camry, ranked 10th, suffered a 37% decline in sales.
