Starting March 1, traffic challans in Goa can no longer be paid in cash. Instead, the Traffic Cell of Goa Police has introduced a fully digital payment system to ensure a smoother and more efficient process for drivers.
Initiative to Promote Digital Payments
This move aims to simplify the challan payment process and encourage the use of digital transactions. By switching to an online system, authorities hope to make payments faster, more transparent, and hassle-free.
Two Methods for Challan Payment
Under the new system, drivers can pay their challans through two digital methods:
- Payment via QR Code – An e-challan machine will generate a QR code, which drivers can scan to make an instant online payment.
- Payment through Online Portal – Traffic violators can also pay their fines through the official website, ensuring a secure and convenient transaction process.
Important Information for Drivers
The Traffic Cell of Goa Police has urged all drivers to be aware of this change and use only the designated digital options for challan payments.
Digital Payments Already Implemented in the Transport Department
The enforcement section of the transport department has already been successfully using digital payments for the past few years. Now, the Traffic Cell of Goa Police is implementing the same system, making challan payments completely digital. This initiative is expected to make the process more efficient, secure, and transparent.
