Crude Oil Prices Decline: Petrol and Diesel Rates Remain Unchanged

Crude oil prices have once again begun to decline, nearing $70 per barrel. Meanwhile, Indian Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have released the latest petrol and diesel prices at 6 AM today, March 4, 2025. Despite the fall in crude oil prices, there has been no change in fuel prices across India.

Where is the Cheapest Petrol and Diesel in India?

Even today, Port Blair continues to offer the cheapest fuel in the country. Here, petrol is available at ₹82.46 per liter, while diesel costs ₹78.05 per liter. In comparison, Delhi’s fuel prices remain stable, with petrol at ₹94.77 per liter and diesel at ₹87.67 per liter.

Global Crude Oil Price Trends

According to Bloomberg, the May futures of Brent crude have fallen by 1.63%, bringing the price to $71.62 per barrel. Similarly, April futures of WTI crude are trading at $68.29 per barrel, reflecting a 0.08% decline.

Fuel Prices Higher in Wealthier Nations

On average, the global price of petrol stands at approximately ₹108.84 per liter. However, significant variations exist across different nations. Generally, wealthier countries experience higher fuel costs, whereas developing nations and oil-producing countries enjoy much lower rates. One exception is the United States, which, despite being an advanced economy, offers comparatively lower gasoline prices.

Globally, Iran sells the most affordable petrol, priced at ₹2.47 per liter. Here is a look at the 10 countries with the lowest fuel prices:
