New Delhi, June 18, 2025:
Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has announced the launch of a new FASTag-based annual pass priced at ₹3,000, aimed at making toll travel more affordable and seamless for private vehicle owners.

The scheme will come into effect from August 15, 2025, and is designed exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans.

Speaking on the initiative, Gadkari stated,

“We are introducing a FASTag-based annual pass worth ₹3,000, which will be valid for either one year from the date of activation or for 200 trips — whichever comes first.”

The pass is expected to simplify travel for frequent commuters and reduce the hassle of multiple toll payments, especially for those who frequently use national highways for personal travel.

This move is part of the government’s larger effort to promote digital toll collection and enhance road travel convenience through the FASTag system. More details regarding the purchase and activation process are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
