RBI’s new update regarding ₹ 200 note
The right to issue Indian currency is only with the Reserve Bank of the country and the government. The notes issued by it are valid all over the country. Except for the ₹ 1 note, all other notes are printed by RBI under special supervision.
Let us tell you that recently discussions have intensified on social media and other platforms regarding the ₹ 200 note. For this, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued an important guideline. Let us tell you that RBI has demanded the withdrawal of thousands of ₹ 200 notes, let us know the complete information about it.
RBI ordered ₹ 200 notes for this reason
Let us tell you that paper notes are used in India. In such a situation, the notes get spoiled and rotten in the market. When the notes become bad and useless, then these notes are recalled by RBI. The reason for RBI withdrawing ₹ 200 notes from the market is the bad condition of these notes.
According to the report of the Reserve Bank of India, it has been told that this time ₹ 200 notes have been found in the most useless and rotten condition. Due to this, ₹ 200 notes worth about Rs 137 crore had to be recalled from the market. According to RBI, some of these ₹200 notes were in bad condition and some had something written on them, due to which they were taken out of circulation.
RBI had asked for so many notes last year
Let us tell you that RBI recalls rotten or bad condition notes from the market every year. Earlier last year also, the Reserve Bank had recalled 200 rupee notes worth Rs 135 crore. These notes were recalled due to being in bad condition.
This time also experts say that due to 2000 rupee notes being out of circulation, 200 rupee notes have been used more, due to excessive use their condition had deteriorated, after which RBI had to recall them.
These notes were also recalled along with 200 rupee notes
The bad notes include 200 rupee notes as well as some smaller notes. These include 5 rupee notes, 10 rupee notes and 50 rupee notes. RBI has recalled 200 rupee notes and 5 rupee notes worth Rs 234 crore. Similarly, RBI has recalled 20 rupee notes worth Rs 139 crore, 50 rupee notes worth Rs 190 crore and 100 rupee notes worth Rs 602 crore from the market.
