The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has released stunning satellite images showcasing the grandeur of Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. These images taken from space depict the extensive preparations and the sheer scale of this important religious gathering.
The satellite images show the transformation of the region, including huge tent cities, intricate road networks and multiple pontoon bridges built to accommodate millions of pilgrims. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has released images that show what the Maha Kumbh Mela looks like from space. The images of Maha Kumbh released by ISRO are giving information about how the Maha Kumbh Mela area looked on 15 September 2023 and how it will look on 29 December 2024.
ISRO has informed that these images have been taken from EOS-04 (RISAT-1A) ‘C’ band microwave satellite. These images are giving a unique description of the tent city (layout of structures and roads), network supporting infrastructure and pontoon bridges built for the Maha Kumbh Mela.
