BIG Price Drop! Jio, Airtel & Vi Slash Recharge Rates After TRAI’s Order – Check New Plans Now

Following the directive of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), major telecom operators Jio, Airtel, and Vi have significantly revised their voice and SMS plans. Earlier, these companies had transitioned their existing data plans into voice and SMS packages, removing data benefits. However, TRAI’s intervention has led to a reduction in pricing, making these services more cost-effective for consumers. Let’s take a closer look at the latest pricing updates from each telecom provider.

Jio Reduces Plan Prices by Over Rs 200

Jio had initially introduced two voice and SMS plans priced at Rs 458 and Rs 1,958, offering unlimited calling, SMS benefits, and extended validity.

  • Rs 458 Plan: Included unlimited calling, 1,000 SMS, and 84 days of validity.
  • Rs 1,958 Plan: Provided unlimited calling and 3,600 SMS with a one-year (365 days) validity.

After TRAI’s intervention, Jio has revised these prices. Now, the Rs 458 plan is available for Rs 448, while the Rs 1,958 plan has been slashed to Rs 1,748—a massive Rs 210 reduction in the latter plan.

Airtel Follows Suit with Price Cuts

Airtel has also revised its voice and SMS plans, reducing their prices by Rs 50 to Rs 110.

  • Rs 499 Plan: Previously offering unlimited calling and 900 SMS for 84 days, now available for Rs 469.
  • Rs 1,959 Plan: Earlier priced at Rs 1,959, this plan now costs Rs 1,849 while retaining unlimited calling and 3,600 SMS with a 365-day validity.

Airtel’s adjustments provide customers with a more affordable alternative while maintaining service quality.

Vi Introduces New Plans for Greater Flexibility

Vi has revamped its offerings by replacing a single plan with two distinct options. Previously, Vi offered an unlimited calling and 3,600 SMS plan for Rs 1,849 with a 365-day validity. Now, customers can choose between two new plans:

  • Rs 1,849 Plan: Retains the unlimited calling and 3,600 SMS benefits with a validity of 365 days.
  • Rs 470 Plan: Provides unlimited calling and 900 SMS with an 84-day validity.

By introducing these new options, Vi has given customers more flexibility to choose a plan that best suits their needs.

More Savings, More Benefits

In compliance with TRAI’s order, Jio, Airtel, and Vi have all made their voice and SMS plans more budget-friendly. Jio has cut the price of its Rs 1,958 plan by Rs 210, while Airtel and Vi have also revised their pricing structures, making telecom services more affordable than ever. Customers can now enjoy enhanced benefits at lower rates, ensuring better value for their money.
