Television actress Chahatt Khanna, known for her roles in popular shows like Bade Achhe Lagte Hain and Qubool Hai, has often made headlines for both her work and personal life. Recently, she sparked buzz again due to rumors of her entering Bigg Boss 19. However, Chahatt has firmly denied joining the reality show, saying that while she might be willing to jump into a well, she wouldn’t step into the Bigg Boss house — because she knows her past would be torn apart for entertainment.
A Life Full of Highs and Lows
Chahatt’s personal journey has seen significant ups and downs. Her first marriage was in 2006 to Bharat Narsinghani when she was just 19. That marriage ended in only four months, with Chahatt later revealing that she faced domestic violence during that time.
She shared candidly about the societal tendency to blame women when relationships fail. “In our society, it’s always assumed that the woman must have done something wrong. How many people can you really explain the truth to?” she said.
Her Second Marriage and Painful Experiences
In 2013, Chahatt married Farhan Mirza, the son of Bollywood writer Shahrukh Mirza. However, this marriage too turned out to be traumatic. In an interview, she alleged that Farhan forced her into physical intimacy even when she was unwell, which she described as both humiliating and heartbreaking. She also claimed that there were repeated attempts to brainwash her into converting to Islam during the marriage.
Eventually, she divorced Farhan in 2018. They have two daughters, Zohar and Amaira, whom Chahatt is now raising on her own. She described Farhan as a “psychopath” and has completely cut ties with him.
A Career Affected by Her Personal Life
Chahatt began her career at the age of 16 with a chocolate commercial in 2002 and debuted on television the same year with the show Sachchi Baat Sabhi Jag Jaane. She has also acted in films like Thank You and Prassthanam.
However, she admits that her personal life — particularly being divorced and a single mother — has affected her career opportunities. In an interview with Hauterrfly, Chahatt revealed that post-divorce, she was often judged by people in the industry. “People look at divorce negatively. I’ve had to explain myself over and over again — and I’m tired. Fine, let’s say I’m the villain here. Now what?” she said with frustration.
Some producers, she claimed, even refused to work with her because of the stigma attached to single motherhood and failed marriages.
A Mother Standing Strong
Despite all the setbacks, Chahatt remains strong and focused on raising her daughters alone. She has refused alimony, choosing instead to be financially independent. “Being a single mother is not easy, but I stand firm for my daughters,” she said.
Chahatt Khanna’s journey is one of resilience — a story of a woman who’s braved societal judgment, personal trauma, and professional setbacks, all while raising two children and striving to make a mark in the entertainment industry once again.
