‘Chhava’ Creates History: Becomes Fastest Film of 2025 to Enter the 200 Crore Club

The historical action drama Chhava, starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and Akshaye Khanna, has achieved a massive milestone on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti. The film has officially joined the prestigious ₹200 crore club, making it the first and fastest film of 2025 to reach this mark.

‘Chhava’ Box Office Collection Day 6

February 19, celebrated as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, saw an exceptional surge in footfalls across Maharashtra, significantly boosting the film’s earnings. As per the latest report from Saccanilk, Chhava, directed by Laxman Utekar, collected an impressive ₹32 crore on its sixth day. This marked a remarkable 26.73% increase from its fifth-day earnings of ₹25.75 crore.

Not only did Chhava cross the ₹30 crore daily collection mark, but it also became the first film of the year to breach the ₹200 crore milestone. Achieving this feat within just six days, the movie has accumulated a total estimated box office collection of ₹203.28 crore in India.

‘Chhava’ Overtakes These Blockbusters

With its stellar performance on Wednesday, Chhava not only entered the ₹200 crore club but also surpassed the lifetime collections of several major Bollywood films. The film has now outperformed Akshay Kumar’s 2.0 (Hindi) ₹188 crore, Sooryavanshi ₹195.04 crore, Mission Mangal ₹200.16 crore, and Good Newwz ₹201.14 crore.

In addition, Chhava has also beaten Ranbir Kapoor’s blockbuster Sanju, which took seven days to reach ₹202.51 crore—while Chhava achieved it in just six days!

Tax-Free Status for ‘Chhava’ in Madhya Pradesh

To celebrate the film’s success and historical significance, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced that Chhava will be tax-free in the state. Sharing the news on social media, he stated, “On the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s birth anniversary, I declare the tax-free release of the Hindi film ‘Chhava’, based on the life of his son, Sambhaji Maharaj.”

Released on February 14, Chhava tells the inspiring story of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s son, Sambhaji Maharaj. Vicky Kaushal portrays the valiant warrior Sambhaji, while Rashmika Mandanna plays his wife, Yesubai. Akshaye Khanna takes on the role of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The film also features stellar performances by Vineet Kumar Singh, Divya Dutta, and Diana Penty in pivotal roles.
