In an effort to compete with ChatGPT, China has introduced its own AI chatbot app, DeepSeek. This AI-powered application has gained significant traction in both China and the United States. However, when it comes to India, DeepSeek appears to be operating with a Chinese agenda, raising concerns about its credibility.
DeepSeek’s Controversial Responses on India
The AI chatbot is available for download in India, but its responses to politically sensitive questions have sparked controversy. When asked about Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, and other North Eastern states, DeepSeek refused to answer directly, instead replying with:
“Let’s talk about something else.”
This response is seen as a strategic move, as China has long made territorial claims over Arunachal Pradesh and remains an ally of Pakistan, which disputes India’s claim over Kashmir. By avoiding discussions on these topics, DeepSeek appears to align with China’s geopolitical stance, raising concerns about AI-driven misinformation and manipulation.
