Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized on Saturday that modern India has adopted a firm stance against terrorism and threats to national sovereignty. Speaking at a public event in Lakhimpur Kheri, the CM made it clear that the government’s approach underlines “zero tolerance” for terrorism and disorder.
Clear Message: Miscreants Will Face Stern Action
Addressing the crowd, Yogi Adityanath said, “The new India doesn’t provoke anyone, but if provoked, it responds with firmness.” He stressed that elements trying to disrupt peace or attack the country’s unity would not be spared. “There is absolutely no space for terrorism or lawlessness in today’s India,” he asserted.
His remarks followed the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 innocent lives were lost and several others were injured. The incident has escalated tension between India and Pakistan, leading to significant policy responses from both nations.

India’s Response to Pahalgam Attack
In reaction to the brutal terrorist attack, India implemented several strong measures, including the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty with Pakistan. In retaliation, Pakistan announced closure of its airspace for Indian aircraft, marking a fresh phase of strained relations between the two neighbors.
Mission to Eliminate Terrorism Completely
Yogi Adityanath reaffirmed the Centre’s commitment to eradicating terrorism, highlighting that the Modi government is determined to protect every Indian. Condemning the attack in Pahalgam, he said, “Killing people for their faith or religious identity is unacceptable in any civilized society.” He expressed sorrow for the families of the victims and demanded justice for those targeted.
Development, Security, and Welfare: The Central Pillars
The Chief Minister praised the central government’s model of governance, which he said is built on security, service, and welfare. He urged the citizens to continue placing their trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, especially during challenging times.
He concluded by saying that unity, strength, and patriotism are the foundations on which the new India is rising—and that no force attempting to destabilize it will succeed.
