Colombian Courtroom Stunned as Prosecutor Accidentally Plays Obscene Videos During Former President’s Trial

In a surprising and embarrassing incident during the ongoing trial of Colombia’s former President Álvaro Uribe, a courtroom moment left everyone—from the judge to the lawyers—visibly stunned, and some even laughing in disbelief. The trial, focused on serious allegations of bribery and witness tampering, took an unexpected turn when the prosecutor accidentally played inappropriate videos before the court.

According to an NDTV report, Prosecutor Marlene Orjuela was presenting evidence linked to phone call recordings related to the case. However, while navigating her laptop, she mistakenly played the wrong video—one showing a man dancing with a liquor bottle. The court was momentarily confused, and Orjuela quickly apologized.

But the embarrassment didn’t end there.

Seconds later, as she tried to correct the error, she selected yet another incorrect file. This time, the courtroom was shown a graphic video featuring a nude woman. Realizing the blunder, Orjuela immediately stopped the playback and again issued an apology, saying:

“Your Honor, I sincerely apologize. We intended to present the files we received, but this was completely unexpected.”

While the judge and several lawyers couldn’t help but chuckle at the unintended display, former President Uribe and his legal team remained stone-faced, showing clear discomfort at the situation.

Uribe Faces Serious Charges

Álvaro Uribe, now 72, served as President of Colombia from 2002 to 2010. He has been accused of bribing witnesses and attempting to manipulate testimony in his favor—charges he firmly denies. Known for his tough stance against the leftist rebel group FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia), Uribe remains a dominant figure in Colombia’s conservative political sphere.

If convicted, the former president could face up to 12 years in prison for bribery and an additional eight years for fraud. His case continues to draw national and international attention, not only because of his political legacy but also due to the sensitive nature of the charges.
