The Election Commission has tightened its grip on 15 additional registered but unrecognized political parties in Bihar, issuing them show-cause notices.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), these parties have been asked to submit a written explanation and will be given an opportunity to present their case before the CEO.
This move follows an earlier action in which 17 political parties were removed from the commission’s list in Bihar, with all facilities and benefits previously granted to them withdrawn.
Officials from the CEO’s office stated that if these parties fail to provide a satisfactory response, the possibility of their removal from the official list cannot be ruled out.
