A series of deadly Israeli airstrikes on Iran has sent shockwaves across the Middle East, leaving Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan deeply concerned. In the early hours of June 13, 2025, Israel launched a powerful aerial offensive targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities and military installations, resulting in the deaths of several high-ranking Iranian military commanders and nuclear scientists.
Reacting strongly, President Erdogan condemned the attacks, calling them provocative and dangerous, and accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of destabilizing the region.

Taking to social media platform X, Erdogan did not mince words.
“Netanyahu and his genocidal machinery are setting the entire region and the world ablaze. They must be stopped,” he wrote.
He further stated that Turkey is closely monitoring the situation and warned of the broader consequences these actions could have on regional peace.
Trump Supports Israeli Strikes, Warns Iran
According to a report by ABC News, former U.S. President Donald Trump endorsed Israel’s move, calling the strikes precise and necessary.
“We gave Iran a chance, and they blew it,” Trump stated.
He added that more actions might follow and urged Iran to return to the negotiating table for a nuclear deal with the United States. Trump emphasized that the U.S. possesses the most advanced and lethal military arsenal in history, much of which, he noted, is now in Israel’s hands — hinting at further escalation if Iran does not comply.
Why Is Erdogan Worried?
President Erdogan’s anxiety stems from multiple factors. Turkey’s previous support for Pakistan during Operation Sindoor has already drawn regional scrutiny. Now, with the U.S. firmly backing Israel, Turkey fears the conflict could spill into its borders or destabilize its neighborhood.
Moreover, Erdogan’s concerns are compounded by Israel’s assertion that Iran’s nuclear and missile programs pose an existential threat. This formed the basis for the launch of Operation Rising Lion, Israel’s full-scale offensive aimed at dismantling Iran’s strategic capabilities.
Iran Vows Retaliation
In response to the strikes, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued a stern warning, declaring that Israel will face severe consequences for its actions. The region now stands at a boiling point, with tensions higher than ever and fears of a broader conflict looming.
