The construction of a permanent police post has commenced near the existing temporary post in Deepa Sarai, located within the Nakhasa police station area. On Tuesday, following traditional rituals, a young Muslim girl, Inaya, laid the foundation stone for the new police post, setting an inspiring example of communal harmony. The event was marked by the distribution of sweets and was attended by a large number of police personnel.
Transition from Temporary to Permanent Structure
Previously, a temporary police post was operational in Mohalla Deepa Sarai within a makeshift iron kiosk. The police had proposed the construction of a permanent building, which was recently approved, leading to the start of construction. In preparation, the electricity department removed nearby transformers a few days prior, while the foundation digging was completed on Monday.
Rituals and Historic Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony
On Tuesday morning, AC Shrishchand, CO Asmoli Kuldeep Kumar, and Inspector-in-Charge Gajendra Singh arrived at the Deepa Sarai temporary police post. The foundation stone was laid under the guidance of Pandit Vaibhav Shukla and Shri Ram Mandir priest Shankar Lal. ASP, CO Asmoli, and the SHO performed traditional Puja rituals before the official foundation-laying event.
What followed took many by surprise—after the Puja, ASP laid the foundation stone and invited young Inaya, a Muslim girl, to fill the foundation, symbolizing unity and communal harmony.
A Moment of Encouragement and Celebration
After completing the foundation work, ASP presented Inaya with a box of sweets and monetary Dakshina as a token of appreciation. She expressed her excitement at being part of such an event, calling it a memorable experience. Later, sweets were distributed among all attendees as part of the celebration.
ASP remarked that the establishment of this police post would not only enhance security in the area but also enable law enforcement to keep a closer watch on criminal activities.
Inaya’s Aspirations and Community Response
Speaking at the event, Inaya shared her enthusiasm about participating in the foundation stone ceremony. She stated that she was thrilled to be involved in such an important initiative and found it to be a great cause. She introduced herself as a class three student of Al Noor Public School in Nakhasa and shared her aspiration to become a District Magistrate (DM) in the future. Her father, Mohammad Wasil, is a businessman.
During the ceremony, an elderly local resident, Tayyab, praised the police for initiating the construction of the permanent police post. In response, ASP Shrishchand presented him with a box of sweets, recognizing his support and appreciation.
Strategic Location of the New Police Post
The upcoming police post in Deepa Sarai Chowk is strategically positioned approximately 125 meters from the residence of MP Zia Ur Rehman Bark. Additionally, it is located near the houses of individuals linked to past criminal activities, including Shariq Satha, Asif (held in Lahore jail, Pakistan), Usman, and Ghulam, who was previously jailed in connection with foreign arms smuggling cases.
This new police post is expected to reinforce law enforcement efforts and enhance security in the region.
