Famous television actress Gautami Kapoor, who has made her mark in every household by working in many hit serials, recently spoke openly about a very painful experience of her childhood. In an interview, she told how she was molested at a young age, which she still remembers.
Big shock at a young age
When Gautami was asked about the safety of women in Mumbai in an interview given to Hotterfly, she shared her attachment and feelings towards Mumbai. She told that Mumbai has always been a safe city for her, but an incident happened in her childhood which shook her.
Gautami told that her family did not have a car, so she used to go to school by bus from the age of just five. During this time, an incident happened with her which she could never forget.
“A man put his hand in my pants”
Gautami said, “This incident happened when I was in sixth grade. A man put his hand inside my pants from behind. I was very young at that time, so I could not understand what was happening immediately. I immediately got off the bus in panic.”
She told that it took her 15 to 20 minutes to understand the whole matter and she kept thinking whether that man was following her.
Mother gave courage and taught a lesson
Gautami further said that when she reached home, she was afraid to tell her mother about this. She thought that maybe her mother would scold her or accept her mistake. But the opposite happened.
Gautami’s mother said, “Are you crazy? You should have slapped that man or grabbed his collar. You should not be afraid. If someone does this, hold his hand tightly, shout loudly and never panic. If you are scared, keep pepper spray with you or take out your shoe and hit him. Nothing will happen to you.”
Gautami Kapoor is busy on the work front
Talking about work, Gautami Kapoor was last seen in a web series called ‘Eleven Eleven’, which is an Indian adaptation of the Korean drama Signal. This thriller series also featured Kritika Kamra, Raghav Juyal, Dhairya Karwa and Akash Dixit in important roles.
