In a welcome move ahead of the Raksha Bandhan festival, the government has provided relief to consumers by reducing the price of commercial LPG cylinders. Oil marketing companies have slashed the price of 19-kg commercial LPG gas cylinders by ₹33.50 across the country. The revised prices have come into effect from Thursday, August 1, 2025.

Subsidy for Ujjwala Scheme Beneficiaries
Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), around 10 crore families continue to receive a ₹300 per cylinder subsidy. This amount is directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts, offering financial relief to economically weaker sections.
With this latest revision, the government signals an attempt to balance commercial cost reduction with continued support for domestic consumers and Ujjwala beneficiaries, especially during the festive season.
