Gurpatwant Singh Pannun Threatens India Amid Rising Tensions with Pakistan, Claims Punjab Will Support Pakistan in War

Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has once again stirred controversy by issuing a provocative threat to India. Pannun, who is known for his anti-India rhetoric, claimed that in the event of a war between the two nations, “Indian Punjab will side with Pakistan.” This isn’t the first time he has expressed pro-Pakistan sentiments and challenged Indian sovereignty.

According to a report by Pakistani newspaper The Dawn, Pannun made these remarks in a video message. In it, he warned, “If India attacks Pakistan, this will be the last war for India and Modi. Punjab will be liberated from Indian occupation.” He went a step further and declared, “Indian Punjab will serve food to Pakistani soldiers. We will block the Indian Army from crossing Punjab.”

Pannun also claimed that chalk-written messages have begun appearing on the walls of military cantonment areas in Indian Punjab. These messages allegedly urge Sikh soldiers not to fight against Pakistan. In the past, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) — the banned separatist organization led by Pannun — had released a video with slogans like “Pakistan-Khalistan Zindabad,” and Khalistani flags were also spotted near the Patiala cantonment area in Punjab.

In an exclusive conversation with Azad Digital, Pannun reiterated his stance in support of Pakistan. He stated, “This is not 1965 or 1971 — this is 2025. I assure the people of Pakistan that we stand with them like a wall. The Indian Army will not be allowed to cross Punjab and attack Pakistan. The very name ‘Pakistan’ signifies purity.” He concluded by saying, “Pakistan needs to be understood, and Sikhs have already understood it.”
