Imagine traveling for free on Haryana Roadways buses! This dream has become a reality with the Haryana Happy Card Scheme, allowing eligible citizens to travel up to 1000 km annually at no cost. The Haryana government has introduced this scheme to assist underprivileged residents, with an estimated 22 lakh beneficiaries. As of August last year, more than 13 lakh Happy Cards had already been issued.

What is the Haryana Happy Card Yojana?

The Haryana government launched the Happy Card Yojana to ease the financial burden on economically weaker families. Under this initiative, around 22 lakh people in the state can travel up to 1000 km annually for free on Haryana Roadways buses. Applicants only need to pay a nominal fee of Rs 50 to obtain the card, while the government covers the rest of the cost. This scheme was officially launched on March 7, 2024, by the then Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar.

How to Apply for a Happy Card Online?

Getting a Happy Card is a simple process. Follow these steps to apply online:

  1. Visit the official Haryana Transport Department website: Haryana Transport Portal.
  2. Click on the ‘Apply Happy Card’ option under the ‘Cards’ tab.
  3. Complete the application form using your Family ID (Parivar Pehchan Patra).
  4. An OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. Enter the OTP to verify your details and complete the application process.

How to Use the Happy Card?

Using the Happy Card is hassle-free. While traveling on a Haryana Roadways bus, simply present your Happy Card to the bus conductor. The conductor will scan the card using a POS machine and verify your details. Once authenticated, your ticket will be issued, allowing you to travel without any fare payment.

This scheme aims to provide financial relief and mobility to the underprivileged, ensuring better accessibility to education, jobs, and essential services across Haryana.
