House Dispute Triggers Tension in Dadon Town, Families Threaten Migration

Property conflicts often lead to disputes, but a recent incident in Dadon town of Uttar Pradesh has escalated to such an extent that multiple families have threatened to leave their homes. On Monday evening, residents posted notices outside their homes stating “House for Sale” and declaring their intention to migrate. The situation was brought under control after the intervention of local police.

Families Protest Over Property Ownership Dispute

The issue revolves around a property claimed by two different parties. Jamil, a local resident, asserts that he legally purchased a plot from Indrajit in Dadon around 36 years ago for Rs 1.5 lakh. Since acquiring the land, Jamil constructed a shop on the front portion and developed a tin shed and cattle shelter in the rear area along Chharra Road, Sankara. However, complications arose last year when Jamil discovered that Umesh Kumar, a resident of nearby Nagla Parsi village, had registered the same property in his name.

Legal Battle in Progress

Upon learning about the registration, Jamil approached the courts, filing cases in both Atrauli and Civil Judge Aligarh courts. The matter remains pending. On January 19, the court instructed both parties to maintain peace. However, Jamil alleges that the opposite party continues to pressure him by attempting to take control of the property.

Mass Protest with Posters

Feeling harassed, Jamil, along with ten other families, including Sharif, Anar Singh, Yasin, Shamshad, Shambhu, Guddu, and Chanda, resorted to drastic measures. On Monday at approximately 6:30 PM, they displayed posters outside their homes along Sankara-Aligarh Road, signaling their intent to sell their properties and migrate elsewhere. This move heightened tensions in the area.

Police Intervention Eases Tension

Local police, led by station in-charge Yogendra Kumar, responded promptly. By 9:30 PM, officers managed to pacify the residents and removed the posters. Despite this, the families have issued a stern warning that they will leave the town if their grievances are not addressed.

Umesh Kumar’s Stand

On the other hand, Umesh Kumar presents a different narrative. He claims to have legally purchased the property from Indrajit on March 14, 2023. According to him, Jamil has been occupying the land without valid ownership. Umesh took the matter to Atrauli court and secured a favorable ruling on January 29, which directed the district authorities to enforce possession.

Administrative Measures Taken

Following the court’s order, the District Magistrate instructed Tehsildar Atrauli Ram Gopal, Naib Tehsildar Mayank Goyal, and Dadon police to intervene. Three days ago, both parties were summoned to the police station. Jamil was asked to provide ownership documents within three days. Authorities warned that failure to present valid proof would result in eviction.

Mounting Pressure Fuels Protest

Jamil’s group perceives the administrative pressure as unfair and views it as an attempt to dispossess them. The families believe the posters were a necessary step to voice their concerns. While the immediate crisis has been averted, the underlying tension persists.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any further escalation. The outcome of the legal proceedings will likely determine the future course of action, but for now, the families remain on edge, hoping for a fair resolution.
