India-Pakistan Tensions Rise After Pahalgam Attack: Villagers Ordered to Harvest Crops Quickly

Urgent Harvesting Ordered in Border Villages

Following the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated dramatically. Villages located near the Pakistan border have been instructed to immediately harvest any standing crops on the other side of the border fencing and collect leftover stubble. Announcements are being made from village Gurudwaras, warning farmers that border gates will close within 2-3 days, after which access to their crops will be impossible. According to local villagers, these directives were communicated by BSF (Border Security Force) officials, prompting them to quickly start harvesting.

BSF Clarifies Harvesting Instructions

In response to the situation, the Amritsar District Commissioner (DC) has issued a clarification regarding the BSF’s reported instructions. The DC stated that neither the local administration nor the BSF has officially issued any such order for farmers to harvest wheat from land beyond the international fencing near the Attari border. It is believed that local farmers may have taken the initiative to make announcements at Gurudwaras independently, but no formal instructions have been passed down by authorities.

Growing Tension Along the India-Pakistan Border

Since the Pahalgam attack, unease has been steadily rising along the India-Pakistan border. India has ordered Pakistani citizens residing within its territory to leave, leading to the impending closure of the Wagah-Attari and other border crossings. Meanwhile, reports suggest that the Pakistani military has directed its soldiers to remain stationed inside bunkers at border posts. Simultaneously, the Indian Army has intensified its preparations, heightening the sense of uncertainty about the government’s next move in response to the terrorist attack.

Indian Government Moves into Action Mode

Amid rising tensions, the Pakistani government convened an emergency meeting, after which it decided to close its airspace. In addition, Pakistan has asked Indian nationals residing there to leave the country immediately. These developments come on the heels of a horrifying attack in Pahalgam, where terrorists opened fire on tourists, resulting in the deaths of 26 innocent people. The brutal incident has enraged citizens across India, and both the Indian government and security forces are now operating in high-alert mode, signaling a potential major response to Pakistan’s continued support for terrorism.
