Maharashtra politics is going through a phase of major changes these days. In view of the upcoming BMC elections, many prominent leaders are changing parties. In this sequence, an important political development was seen on August 9 at Anandashram in Thane, when many senior leaders and officials of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP – Sharad Pawar faction) joined Shiv Sena (Shinde faction).

This entry program was organized on the day of Rakshabandhan, in which mothers and sisters expressed their affection by tying Rakhi to MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. On this occasion, MP Naresh Mhaske, MLA Vishwanath Bhoir, District Head Gopal Landge, Upazila Head Rajesh Kadam and Mahila Aghadi officials were also present.
This political development is being considered a sign of organisational strength for Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) in Kalyan-Dombivali-Ambarnath region.
