Karachi, July 2025 — A rare and emotional incident took place on Tuesday at a private hospital in Baldia Town, Karachi city of Pakistan. Here a woman gave birth to five children at once, but this happiness turned into mourning within a few hours, when two newborns died due to premature delivery.

Delivery was done by cesarean, all children were premature

The woman has been identified as a member of the family of Adnan Sheikh, a resident of Baldia Town. According to hospital sources, the delivery was done by cesarean operation, in which three boys and two girls were born. All the children were born at just 29 weeks of pregnancy, due to which their weight was very low and the lungs were not fully developed. Due to difficulty in breathing, everyone was put on oxygen support, but the condition of two children was so critical that they died within a few hours.

The condition of the remaining three children is also critical

The family said that three newborns are still on oxygen support and their condition remains critical. According to doctors, in such cases, the life of the mother as well as the children is at risk. In premature delivery, children often do not develop fully in the womb, due to which the immune system remains weak and the risk of infection increases.

Family’s appeal and financial crisis

The children’s father Adnan Sheikh, who is a driver by profession, said in a conversation with the media that he is grateful for this rare happiness, but the expenses of taking care of five premature children are beyond his control. He has appealed to the government and social welfare organizations for help.
