The objective is to provide ownership certificates to local residents, allowing them to benefit from legal rights and economic advantages.
Land Registration in Haryana for Just ₹1
Under this Municipal Corporation-led process, residents of Lal Dora areas can register their houses for just ₹1, based on the village numberdar’s report. The state government plans to issue ownership certificates under this scheme by March 2025. Once the certificate is obtained, the land registry will be available at the collector rate. Previously, residents of Lal Dora areas only had possession of their houses but lacked official ownership documents.

Municipal Corporation teams are conducting door-to-door surveys in Lal Dora areas to raise awareness. Residents are being informed about the benefits of obtaining ownership rights for their houses and shops. Legal ownership will not only enhance property security but also increase property value.
Benefits of Land Ownership
After acquiring ownership, villagers will be eligible to mortgage their property for bank loans. Additionally, they will gain the legal right to buy and sell land. However, some villagers have expressed concerns about the scheme, as obtaining ownership documents will make them liable to pay house tax.
House Tax Details
Empty plots up to 99.99 yards will not incur any house tax. For houses on 100-yard plots, an annual tax of ₹100 will be charged, while properties on 150-yard plots will incur ₹150 annually. Despite concerns over taxes, the scheme offers significant benefits to villagers, providing them with official ownership of their homes and land.
