LPG Gas Cylinder Price: Major Relief for Consumers

Consumers of LPG gas cylinders have received excellent news as the government announced substantial price reductions on March 8, 2025. This move aims to provide considerable relief to common citizens. For those with government gas connections, LPG cylinders are now available at just ₹590. This has been made possible through a generous subsidy of ₹377 provided by the government.

Fluctuation in LPG Gas Cylinder Prices

LPG gas cylinder prices had remained steady for several months. However, in March 2025, a significant price shift occurred, varying across different cities. This price reduction is particularly beneficial for families with government gas connections, easing their household expenses significantly.

New LPG Gas Cylinder Rates by Indian Oil

According to Indian Oil’s official website, the latest prices show East Singhbhum (Jamshedpur) as the city with the cheapest 14.2 kg LPG cylinder, priced at ₹848.50. In Jharkhand’s capital, Ranchi, the price is ₹859.50. Meanwhile, in cities like Hazaribagh and Koderma, LPG cylinders are priced at ₹858.50.

In other areas such as Bokaro, Dhanbad, Giridih, and Deoghar, the rate remains consistent at ₹858.50. The lowest price is found in Dumka, where LPG cylinders are available for ₹829.70. Giridih and Gumla also offer competitive rates of ₹828.50.

Subsidy Benefits Under PM Ujjwala Yojana

Individuals with government LPG gas connections under the PM Ujjwala Yojana can enjoy a significant subsidy of ₹377. This brings down the effective cost of an LPG gas cylinder to just ₹590. This subsidy is especially crucial for economically weaker families that rely on LPG gas cylinders for their daily cooking needs.

It is important to note that the subsidy benefit is limited to those holding a government gas connection. Consumers without such a connection will need to pay the full market price. Thus, those who wish to benefit from the subsidy must apply for a government gas connection.
