A government school teacher in Sehore, Madhya Pradesh, has been suspended after sharing a controversial video on social media. The video, originally posted by a Pakistani woman, features prayers for the safety of Pakistani soldiers during Operation Sindoor. The teacher, identified as Shehnaz Parveen, worked at a government school in Mehtwada, located about 55 kilometers from the district headquarters.
The suspension was confirmed by District Education Officer (DEO) Sanjay Singh Tomar, who stated that the action was taken following a complaint by the Bajrang Dal and under the directives of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Ashta.
Controversial Facebook Post Sparks Action
According to officials, Shehnaz Parveen shared the video on her personal Facebook account, which included the caption: “Allah, protect the Pakistani soldiers.” The post was flagged as inappropriate, especially given current tensions and the ongoing narrative of Operation Sindoor, where national sentiment is high.
DEO Sanjay Tomar noted that government employees, including teachers, are bound by service conduct rules, which prohibit sharing or promoting such sensitive content on public platforms. The suspension was issued under official guidelines meant to regulate government employees’ behavior on social media.

Bajrang Dal Raised the Alarm
The video came to light when members of the Bajrang Dal accessed the post and submitted a formal complaint to the SDM of Ashta. In response, the SDM’s office sent a directive to the District Education Office, prompting immediate disciplinary action.
As of now, no criminal case has been registered by the police against Shehnaz Parveen, but administrative action has been taken.
Official Statement
DEO Sanjay Singh Tomar stated,
“Shehnaz Parveen, a teacher at the Government Higher Secondary School in Mehtwada, posted a video on her personal social media account in which prayers were offered for the Pakistani military. A letter from the SDM’s office in Ashta was received regarding this incident, and based on that, suspension proceedings were initiated under Section 163 and other applicable service conduct rules.”
