Maha Kumbh 2025: Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Rejects Call for Sanatan Board at Dharma Sansad

On 27th January, during the ongoing Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, a significant Dharma Sansad was organized. The central demand made by various saints, mahants, and religious leaders was for the formation of a Sanatan Board, similar to the Waqf Board. This event, held under the leadership of the renowned storyteller Devkinandan Thakur, saw participants united in their call for the creation of the board, and they even agreed on a proposed structure.

However, Jagadguru Rambhadracharya, a prominent spiritual leader, strongly rejected this demand. In an exclusive conversation with ABP News, he explained why he believes the formation of such a board is unnecessary.

Rambhadracharya’s Stance: The Sanatan Board Already Exists

According to Rambhadracharya, there is no need for a new Sanatan Board. He stated that the essence of the Sanatan Dharma has existed for centuries and has always been in place. He emphasized that the Maha Kumbh celebration, which takes place only once every 144 years, should be an occasion for all Hindus to unite, immerse themselves in the Amrit bath, and foster a pure, satvik mindset. He stressed that this should lead to spiritual immortality for everyone involved.

The Jagadguru further clarified that the focus should be on awakening the Hindu community and uniting them in the face of challenges. He pointed out that, “Enemies of Sanatan should be defeated, now Hindus do not need to sleep,” calling for greater vigilance and action from the Hindu populace.

Rambhadracharya’s Call for Hindus to Assert Their Rights

In his address, Rambhadracharya criticized the Hindu community for not fighting adequately for their rights. He stated, “Hindus do not fight for their rights properly, we will have to fight for our rights.” He echoed the sentiments of the famous poet Dinkar, who once said, “Now there will be war, not pleas. The war will be fierce.” The Jagadguru clarified that the battle he referred to was not physical but ideological — it would be a fight against those who oppose Sanatan Dharma, India, and Hinduism.

Security Measures and Religious Significance of Mauni Amavasya

As the Maha Kumbh reaches its zenith, the most spiritually significant day, Mauni Amavasya, is eagerly anticipated. On this day, millions of pilgrims are expected to bathe at the Sangam in Prayagraj, believing that the bath brings special spiritual merit. For Hindus, this day holds deep religious significance, as bathing and making donations are considered especially auspicious.

In preparation for the massive turnout, strict security arrangements have been put in place to ensure the safety of the millions of devotees expected to arrive. So far, crores of people have already participated in the sacred dip at the Sangam, reflecting the profound devotion and spiritual fervor of those present.

Thus, while the call for a Sanatan Board has been rejected, the message of unity, spiritual awakening, and assertion of rights remains central to the discussions at the Maha Kumbh this year.
