Manipur, Uttar Pradesh – May 31: A major controversy has erupted in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri district after 130 objectionable videos allegedly involving the son of a local BJP Mahila Morcha leader surfaced on social media, sending shockwaves across political and public circles.
The viral videos, reportedly filmed in various hotels and restaurants across the city, have sparked outrage and political mudslinging, particularly from opposition parties, while the BJP leader at the center of the storm has gone silent and is not responding to calls.
Background of the Case
The man at the center of the controversy is said to be the son of the BJP’s women’s wing president in a local mandal and also the nephew of a prominent sweet shop owner in Mainpuri. Despite being married, the individual is alleged to have engaged in illicit relationships, recording intimate videos with a woman and using them to mentally harass his wife.
Sources say that the wife had earlier approached the police after her husband allegedly burned her with a cigarette, but the matter was reportedly brushed aside due to political pressure and the family’s influence.
In her complaint, the wife alleges that:
- Her husband has an ongoing extramarital affair.
- He regularly shows her explicit videos of himself with another woman.
- He taunts her, saying, “You can’t touch me. My mother is a powerful BJP leader.”
- She has also accused her mother-in-law and sister-in-law of harassment.
Political Fallout and Opposition’s Reaction
The scandal has given opposition parties ample ammunition to attack the ruling BJP. Samajwadi Party district president Alok Shakya criticized the BJP, saying,
“This exposes the true face of BJP leaders. The public will answer them in the 2027 elections.”
Congress district president Manish Sagar echoed similar sentiments:
“This is unacceptable behavior in Indian society. BJP leadership must take responsibility and act.”
BJP Maintains Silence
So far, the BJP has remained tight-lipped, with no official statement from the party. The woman BJP leader, who is the mother of the accused, has reportedly stopped taking calls and avoided the media entirely.
This incident comes shortly after a similar controversy in Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh, where another BJP leader was caught in an explicit video scandal. The dust had barely settled on that issue before this new controversy broke out, further tarnishing the party’s image.
What’s Next?
Authorities are under pressure to take legal action amid growing public outrage. Women’s rights activists and legal experts are also calling for a thorough investigation into the alleged abuse, harassment, and misuse of political influence.
As this high-profile case unfolds, all eyes are on the BJP leadership — whether they will act decisively or continue to remain silent.
