Maulana Sajid Rashidi, who made controversial remarks on Samajwadi Party (SP) MP Dimple Yadav, is once again in the headlines. On Monday, SP workers beat up and slapped the Maulana in a TV studio in Noida, the video of which is now going viral on social media. Earlier, SP workers had lodged an FIR against the Maulana, but now the matter has heated up further.
Controversial statement of SP leader Rajkumar Bhati
After this incident, SP leader Rajkumar Bhati made a statement on the social media platform X, which has sparked a new debate in political circles. He wrote: “I am not a supporter of violence, but I did not feel bad at all when this uncivilized, wild and vulgar Maulana was beaten up. This should be the fate of every ill-mannered person who makes obscene remarks on sisters and daughters.”
He further said that if the Maulana is seen on the road, he will be beaten there, and the Samajwadi Party is not so weak that anyone can roam around openly after abusing its leader.
Sharp reaction on social media
After Rajkumar Bhati’s statement, people started targeting him on social media. Many users raised the question whether it is right to take the law into one’s own hands? Some asked why the SP leader was silent in the Iqra Hasan case? Questions are also being raised on the image of SP regarding this statement.
Who attacked?
Shyam Singh Bhati, who is the national secretary of the SP Advocate Sabha, was among those who attacked the Maulana during the TV debate. His colleagues also surrounded the Maulana and slapped him. After the incident, the Maulana has lodged a complaint in Sector-126 police station.
