Neha Singh Rathore Faces Fresh Controversy Over Satirical Remarks on Pahalgam Attack

Bhojpuri Folk Singer Under Fire Again for Her Lyrics and Statements

Bhojpuri folk singer Neha Singh Rathore has once again landed in controversy, this time for her sharp satirical comments and songs targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack. Several Hindu organizations have strongly objected to her remarks, leading to a wave of legal complaints against her.

Massive Backlash from Hindu Organizations

In Varanasi, over 400 written complaints have been filed at various police stations by Hindu groups demanding that Neha be booked for sedition and inciting communal tension. The complaints accuse her of insulting the Prime Minister by referring to him as a “coward” and comparing him to “General Dyer,” a historical figure infamous for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

Sudhir Singh, a representative of the Hanuman Sena, spoke to ABP News, calling Neha’s remarks “unforgivable.” He highlighted that PM Modi, a Member of Parliament from Varanasi and a symbol of national pride, was unjustly targeted. Singh further stated that while the Indian Army was conducting a decisive anti-terror mission under Operation Sindoor, Neha’s statements were spreading negativity and were even being used by Pakistani media, likening her actions to that of an “enemy agent.” He warned of escalating protests and legal action if immediate FIRs were not registered.

Demand for FIR Grows with Over 400 Complaints

Complaints have flooded police stations in Varanasi including Lanka, Bhelupur, and other areas. Protesters have cited that Neha’s songs, particularly one titled “Chowkidar Kayar Ba” (The Watchman is a Coward), are harming national unity and communal harmony. Lanka Police Station Inspector Shivakant Mishra confirmed that the matter is under investigation and action will be taken as per legal provisions.

A History of Controversy Follows Neha Singh Rathore

Neha is no stranger to controversy. She has frequently made headlines for her outspoken views and bold lyrics. Following her recent video on the Pahalgam terror incident, an FIR was lodged under sedition and IT Act provisions at Hazratganj Police Station in Lucknow. In response, she filed a petition with the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court seeking to quash the FIR. The hearing was scheduled for May 12.

Neha has defended herself, stating that her critiques are part of her constitutional right to free speech, and claims she is being unfairly targeted for political reasons.

Conclusion

The situation continues to unfold as public sentiment grows both in support of and against Neha Singh Rathore. While her supporters argue for artistic and constitutional freedom, opponents demand accountability for what they see as divisive and disrespectful content. Legal proceedings in the coming weeks will determine the course of this high-profile case.
