A shocking incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh’s Maharajganj district when an obscene video was played during an official online public meeting of the Education Department. According to news agency PTI, the meeting—meant to address school-related issues—was in progress when the unexpected incident caused chaos among attendees. Matters escalated further when a participant made an objectionable remark, prompting outrage.
The session was chaired by District Magistrate Santosh Kumar Sharma and attended by the Basic Education Officer, Block Education Officers, headmasters, government teachers, and members of the public. The meeting aimed to provide a direct communication platform between citizens and the District Magistrate on educational concerns. However, during the session, a participant identified as “Jason Junior” reportedly shared his screen and streamed pornographic content. Several officials immediately exited the meeting in response.
Authorities told PTI that another participant, named “Arjun,” allegedly made offensive comments during the session, though further details were not disclosed. Following the incident, Basic Education Officer Riddhi Pandey and Block Education Officer (Farenda) Sudama Prasad lodged a complaint on August 9 at the Kotwali police station against two unidentified individuals.
Kotwali SHO Satyendra Rai confirmed that the case is under investigation with the assistance of the cyber police. He stated that technical tools are being used to identify the culprits and assured that appropriate action will be taken soon.
