
Punjab National Bank (PNB) has once again revised the interest rates on its fixed deposits (FDs). This revision applies to PNB FD schemes with deposits of less than ₹3 crore. A similar revision was made by the bank in April 2025. This time, the interest rates for select tenures have been reduced by 25 basis points. The revised rates came into effect from May 1, 2025.
Revised PNB FD Interest Rates
Following the change, PNB is now offering interest rates ranging from 3.50% to 7.10% for general public on FDs with tenures from 7 days to 10 years. The highest interest rate is being offered on a 390-day PNB FD, which is 7.10%.
New Rates for Different Tenures
The revised interest rates for deposits below ₹3 crore are as follows:
- For FDs of 180 to 270 days, the interest rate has been reduced from 6.25% to 6%.
- For 271 to 299 days, the rate has been cut from 6.5% to 6.25%.
- On 303-day FDs, the rate is now 6.15%, down from 6.4%.
- For FDs from 304 days to less than 1 year, the interest rate is now 6.25%, down from 6.5%.
- A 1-year PNB FD now offers 6.7%, reduced from the earlier 6.8%.
Senior Citizen PNB FD Rates
PNB offers additional interest benefits to senior citizens:
- Citizens aged between 60 and 80 years will receive an additional 50 basis points on FDs up to 5 years.
- For FDs longer than 5 years, they will get 80 basis points extra.
- The new interest rate range for senior citizens on PNB FD is 4.00% to 7.60%.
Super Senior Citizen Benefits
For super senior citizens (aged 80 and above), PNB offers an additional 80 basis points across all FD tenures. After the latest revision, their effective interest rates on PNB FD range from 4.30% to 7.90%.
Bandhan Bank Also Revises FD Rates
Apart from PNB, Bandhan Bank has also revised its FD interest rates for deposits below ₹3 crore. The bank is now offering interest rates ranging from 3% to 7.75% for regular customers and 3.75% to 8.25% for senior citizens. The highest rate of 7.75% (regular) and 8.25% (senior citizens) is offered on 1-year FDs. These new rates are effective from May 1, 2025.
