Public Reacts to Pahalgam, Operation Sindoor, and All-Party Delegation: C-Voter Survey Results

Following the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s assertive response through Operation Sindoor, an all-party delegation was sent abroad to present a united diplomatic front. A recent C-Voter survey gathered public opinion on this move, as well as reactions to political figures like Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and the implications for his party.

Has Shashi Tharoor’s Image Improved?

One of the central questions in the survey revolved around Shashi Tharoor’s statements following the Pahalgam incident and Operation Sindoor. When asked whether Tharoor’s comments had elevated his public stature:

  • 43% of respondents said yes, his respect has increased.
  • 22% believed his stature had improved to some extent.
  • 14% felt there was no increase in respect for Tharoor at all.
  • 19% chose not to offer an opinion on the matter.

Did Tharoor’s Statements Hurt the Congress?

The survey also explored whether Shashi Tharoor’s remarks had negatively impacted the Congress Party. The responses revealed:

  • 52% believed his comments caused significant damage to his own party.
  • 14% said his remarks had somewhat harmed Congress.
  • 24% felt the Congress Party suffered no harm as a result of his statements.

Political Motives Behind Delegation Selection?

Respondents were also asked whether the selection of members for the all-party diplomatic delegation was politically motivated. The findings showed:

  • 24% felt the government had clearly used political considerations when selecting opposition members.
  • 23% said politics played a role to some degree.
  • 12% were unsure or declined to comment on the issue.
