Rising Tensions: Indian Celebrities Boycott Turkey Over Support for Pakistan

Political Strain Turns Personal for Actress Payal Ghosh

New Delhi: Tensions between India and Pakistan remain high, and Turkey’s open support for Pakistan has not gone unnoticed. This has sparked growing discontent among many Indians, including public figures. Recently, actress Payal Ghosh made headlines after publicly revealing her decision to cancel a trip to Turkey.

In a strong statement, Payal said, “You can’t backstab a country and then expect tourism to flourish.” Her comments reflect the sentiment of many Indians who have taken issue with Turkey’s stance following India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’, a military initiative targeting terrorist camps in Pakistan.

A Lucrative Offer Declined for Patriotism

Despite being offered a substantial amount — around 30 lakh rupees — to participate in an event in Turkey, Payal Ghosh refused. Emphasizing her patriotism, she stated, “Money can never be more important than national pride. I am an Indian before I am an actress or artist.”

Quoting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s famous line, “Blood and water cannot flow together,” she added, “Likewise, betrayal and tourism cannot coexist.”

“Turkey Shouldn’t Expect Indian Money”

Payal was firm in her stance that Turkey, having supported Pakistan at such a critical time, should not expect to benefit from Indian tourism — whether from celebrities or ordinary travelers. “I have no doubts about my decision. I canceled my Turkey plans. By God’s grace, I have everything I need. I won’t put my country behind for money. Jai Hind!” she declared.

Actress Neetu Chandra Also Calls for Boycott

Payal is not alone. Actress Neetu Chandra has also spoken out against countries that support terrorism, including Turkey and Azerbaijan. She emphasized the need for India to take a firm stand, urging a boycott of nations that back terror networks.

Speaking passionately, Neetu said, “Terrorism can never be justified. Innocent lives are always the ones most affected. India must act against nations that support it, for the safety of our people and the preservation of our culture.”

A Call for Responsible Choices

In her closing remarks, Neetu appealed to the public to think carefully before supporting any foreign entities. “This fight should be guided by humanity, but also responsibility. Know who you support, and understand their intentions,” she advised.
