Following the attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai, there has been widespread speculation about the severity of his injuries. Maharashtra government minister Nitesh Rane and Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Nirupam were among those questioning the authenticity of the actor’s condition.
Doubts Raised by Sanjay Nirupam and Nitesh Rane
On social media platform X, Sanjay Nirupam expressed skepticism over Saif’s recovery, writing, “Isn’t it amazing that the actor is so fit after receiving a knife wound to the back and undergoing surgery?” Minister Nitesh Rane also cast doubt on the nature of the actor’s injuries, fueling further controversy surrounding the incident.
Bhajan Singh Rana Shares His Account
Auto rickshaw driver Bhajan Singh Rana, who transported Saif Ali Khan to the hospital, provided a first-hand account of the events. He told news agency IANS that Saif was not pretending to be injured. Rana described the actor’s condition in detail, stating, “When I first saw Saif Ali Khan, his kurta was drenched in blood, and blood was flowing from his body.” He emphasized that there was no question of Saif acting or exaggerating his injuries.
Rana Defends Saif’s Condition and Denies Acting Claims
When asked if it was possible for Saif to appear so fit just five days after the incident, Rana attributed his recovery to the expertise of the doctors at Lilavati Hospital. “The doctors are skilled and excellent at what they do. They would be the best to answer that question,” he explained. He further stressed that there should be no political debate about the issue, highlighting that Saif was not pretending.
The Incident Details as Recounted by Bhajan Singh Rana
Rana recalled that there were three people in the rickshaw that night, including Saif and a young child. He noted that it was clear Saif’s wound was fresh, and his bloodied state made it evident that he was not in a condition to be acting. “I was scared to see him like that,” Rana admitted. “I just wanted to get him to the hospital as quickly as possible.”
Financial Support from Saif and Faizan Ansari
Rana also shared how Saif Ali Khan supported him financially after the incident. He received 51,000 rupees from the actor as a gesture of gratitude, although Rana emphasized that he does not ask for money from anyone. In addition, social worker Faizan Ansari helped him with a contribution of 11,000 rupees.
Rana’s account has provided further clarity on the actor’s condition that night, countering claims that Saif may have been exaggerating his injuries.
