Six individuals have been arrested on allegations of spying for Pakistan, with Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra emerging as a key figure in the case. However, the investigation has now expanded to include Puri-based YouTuber Priyanka Senapati, whose possible links to Jyoti have come under scrutiny by the Puri Police.
Priyanka Senapati Breaks Silence
Responding to the investigation, Priyanka Senapati went live on social media to clarify her stance. She stated, “Jyoti was only a professional acquaintance from YouTube. I had no knowledge of any wrongdoing on her part. Had I known she was involved in espionage for an enemy nation, I would have cut all ties immediately.” She added that she knew Jyoti solely through content collaborations and expressed shock over the developments. Priyanka affirmed her willingness to fully cooperate with the authorities.
Police Question Priyanka Senapati’s Family
On Sunday, May 18, Puri Police questioned Priyanka Senapati’s family members. Her family has assured full cooperation, recognizing the sensitivity of the matter. Her father stated, “Our daughter is cooperating with the investigation.” Authorities have directed Priyanka not to leave Puri until the investigation concludes.
The Puri Police are reportedly working closely with central intelligence agencies and state-level units. Given the gravity of the case, a special investigation team led by the Superintendent of Police has been formed. Odisha Police are also coordinating with Haryana Police.
Suspicious Visit Raises Questions
Sources suggest that Jyoti Malhotra visited Puri in September 2024, during which she reportedly filmed sensitive locations including the Jagannath Temple and nearby government premises. Intelligence agencies suspect this content may have been transmitted to Pakistan via digital platforms. Investigators are also probing whether Jyoti met or communicated with Priyanka Senapati during her visit.
Travel Blogger ‘Yatri Doctor’ Also Under the Scanner
In a related development, travel blogger Navankur Chaudhary, widely known as “Yatri Doctor” and a globetrotter with over 120 countries under his belt, has also come under the radar. He is alleged to have collaborated with Jyoti Malhotra in gathering intelligence for Pakistan’s ISI.
