Pakistan continues to reel under the pressure of escalating terrorist attacks, many carried out by the very groups it once nurtured. In the latest incident, six laborers were shot dead by unidentified terrorists in northwest Pakistan’s Peshawar region. The attack occurred in the troubled Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where the workers were engaged in the construction of a police station.

According to police reports, the assault took place in the tribal district of Wana in South Waziristan. The terrorists opened fire on the laborers while they were resting in their tents. District Police Officer Farmanullah confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Notably, this region witnessed a similar terror strike in August in which at least 11 workers were killed.
Just days earlier, another deadly terrorist assault was carried out in the same province. Militants launched a massive attack on a police station in Dera Ismail Khan, near the South Waziristan border. Using a vehicle packed with explosives, the attackers rammed into the building and followed it up with mortar shelling. The violent encounter resulted in the deaths of at least six security personnel and left around 16 others injured.
