TRAI’s latest guidelines: Now on this recharge of just ₹20, you will get unlimited calls for full 3 months and… crores of customers are happy.

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has announced that Jio, BSNL, Airtel, and Vi users will now be able to keep their device active for three months with a minimum recharge of Rs 20. The move is also aimed at reducing the financial burden on prepaid mobile users.

TRAI Latest guidelines

TRAI has implemented automatic number retention plans for all telecom operators in the country, including Jio, BSNL, Airtel and Vi.

As per the guidelines, users who do not use voice, data, SMS or other services on their SIM cards for 90 days and do not have any active recharge will have their SIM cards disconnected.

The telecom operator can deregister the number from the user’s name and assign it to a new user.

This is not a new guideline and was introduced in 2013. However, telecom operators failed to comply with this rule, allowing their users to maintain an active base plan to keep their SIM cards active.
