Two Men Arrested in Ratlam for Allegedly Concealing Identity, Filming Woman Without Consent

A tense situation unfolded in Dhamnod town of Madhya Pradesh’s Ratlam district on Thursday after two men were accused of entering the area under false identities and secretly recording a woman. The incident has sparked outrage among local residents and Hindu organizations.

According to reports, the two men, identified later as Farman Muslim and Kallu Muslim from Uttar Pradesh, initially introduced themselves as “Raju” and “Kallu” while moving around the town selling rakhis. During their visit, they allegedly sat at a shop, smoked cigarettes, and used a selfie mode on their phone to record a woman without her knowledge. The video was later uploaded to Instagram with background music, which locals claimed was objectionable.

Suspicion and Detention

Members of local Hindu organizations grew suspicious of the pair and questioned them. Upon persistent inquiry, the men disclosed their real names and place of origin. The matter was immediately reported to Dhamnod police outpost in-charge Anand Bagwan, who detained the suspects for questioning.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the recorded video had been edited with songs deemed inappropriate, allegedly harming the woman’s dignity.

Charges and Investigation

Police have registered a case under the IT Act, charges related to outraging a woman’s modesty, and disturbing public peace. The suspects’ mobile phones have been seized for digital forensics.

Public Advisory

The incident has fueled anger in the community, with local organizations urging residents to remain vigilant. They have appealed that any suspicious activity—especially cases involving misrepresentation of identity or actions that could inflame religious sentiments—should be reported immediately to the police and social groups.
