The footage, which reportedly originated from the local BJP office, has led to disciplinary action, with the party issuing a show-cause notice to the district leader.
BJP Issues Disciplinary Notice Over Code of Conduct Violation
The incident, captured on CCTV, has prompted a swift response from the party’s state leadership. In a formal notice issued by BJP’s Uttar Pradesh General Secretary Govind Narayan Shukla, the party has accused Kashyap of behavior that “tarnishes the party’s image” and violates the BJP’s internal code of conduct.
The letter, issued under the directive of the state BJP president, requires Amar Kishore Kashyap to submit a written explanation within seven days. Failure to provide a satisfactory response within the stipulated time may lead to strict disciplinary action, the notice warned.

The video, dated April 12, appears to show a woman in traditional attire climbing a staircase inside the BJP office. Amar Kishore Kashyap is seen walking closely behind her, placing his hand on her shoulder before embracing her briefly as they ascend. The footage has since gone viral on social media platforms, sparking backlash from both within and outside the party.

Kashyap Responds with Controversial Explanation
In his defense, Kashyap claimed the incident was misinterpreted. “The woman is an active party worker,” he said. “She called me and mentioned she wasn’t feeling well and wanted to rest for a while. I asked her to come to the office. While climbing the stairs, she felt dizzy, so I offered support.”
He added, “If we can’t support our own workers, who else will? And if helping someone is seen as a crime, then I don’t know what to say.”
Internal Discontent and Public Backlash
Despite his explanation, the incident has not been well received by party workers. Several local BJP members have reportedly expressed anger and disappointment over the incident, labeling it “embarrassing and inappropriate” for someone holding a leadership position.
