Renowned Vrindavan spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj, known for inspiring people through his satsangs (spiritual discourses), has temporarily paused his public journeys. Every day, hundreds of devotees gather at his ashram, Radha Keli Kunj, to seek his blessings and attend his teachings.
However, recent reports confirm that Premanand Maharaj has suspended his spiritual travel schedule for an indefinite period. The decision comes amidst rising concerns over heavy crowding in Vrindavan, especially on weekends.
Overwhelming Crowds Spark Concern
Vrindavan has been witnessing an influx of massive crowds, particularly during weekends. On Saturday alone, thousands of devotees poured into the city, primarily to visit sacred sites like the Banke Bihari Temple and Prem Mandir. The sight of mountains of footwear piled at the temple entrances amazed both locals and visitors alike.
Premanand Maharaj’s gatherings attract a significant number of devotees—an estimated 10,000 people per day often arrive on foot to attend his darshans and discourses. Concerned by the growing crowds and the pressure it places on both devotees and local infrastructure, the saint has made the difficult choice to suspend his travels indefinitely.
Extreme Heat Fails to Deter Devotees
Despite the relentless summer heat, the flow of pilgrims has remained steady. However, to ensure the safety and comfort of the devotees, Premanand Maharaj’s team of sevadars (volunteers) has decided to halt the daily walking pilgrimages for the time being.
The temporary suspension is a proactive measure aimed at managing the surge of crowds and maintaining order during peak seasons. It remains unclear when the saint will resume his spiritual journeys, but the decision is being seen as one of care and caution for his followers.
