Gold and Silver Prices Today: Significant Drop Recorded

Gold prices have witnessed a substantial drop of ₹6,799 per 10 grams today. As a result, the price of 24-carat gold has fallen to ₹96,349 per 10 grams, compared to ₹1,03,148 per 10 grams yesterday. Similarly, 22-carat gold is now priced at ₹88,319 per 10 grams, while 18-carat gold is trading at ₹72,262 per 10 grams. The primary reason for this price drop is attributed to a decrease in global demand for gold, along with the easing of tensions between India and Pakistan following a ceasefire agreement.

Silver Prices Also See a Dip

Silver prices have also experienced a slight decline. According to IBJA, the price of silver is ₹92,500 per kilogram, reflecting a drop of ₹1,200 compared to yesterday.

What Caused the Decline?

Experts suggest that the drop in gold prices is linked to a two-month low in international gold prices, now at $2,557.40 per ounce. Furthermore, despite the wedding season in India, some buyers have been delaying purchases, which has impacted demand. The recent surge in the stock market, along with investors’ growing preference for equities, has also contributed to the reduction in gold prices.

Today’s Latest Rates (as per IBJA, per 10 grams):

  • 24-carat Gold: ₹96,349
  • 22-carat Gold: ₹88,319
  • 18-carat Gold: ₹72,262
  • Silver (per kilogram): ₹92,500

Advice for Buyers

For those planning to buy jewelry, this price drop could present a good opportunity. However, experts recommend confirming the final price with local jewelers, including making charges and GST, before making a purchase.
