Registration will be done for just 1 rupee, Haryana government will give ownership rights on red line land in this district

The Faridabad Municipal Corporation in Haryana has accelerated efforts to provide ownership rights to residents occupying red line land in the villages. Based on the numberdar’s report, property registries for these residents will be completed for just one rupee. The survey for this process has already begun.
Issuance of Ownership Certificates
In addition to property registration, the Municipal Corporation will also issue ownership certificates to the residents. This initiative falls under the state government’s ownership scheme, with the certificates expected to be distributed by March. Currently, villagers have no official ownership papers for their homes and shops, only possession rights. This survey aims to resolve that issue by granting legal ownership.
Eligibility and Document Requirements
To obtain the ownership certificate, residents must prove they have possessed their property for at least 10 years. Supporting documents such as electricity bills, driving licenses, or domestic gas connections can be submitted for verification. Once verified, the Municipal Corporation will issue the official certificate of ownership.
Benefits of Ownership Rights
With this certificate, residents will gain several advantages, including the ability to:
- Apply for bank loans using their property as collateral
- Buy and sell their land with legal documentation
Concerns Over House Tax
While the initiative is being welcomed, some villagers have expressed concerns regarding potential house tax charges. Addressing these concerns, municipal officials have clarified that vacant plots measuring up to 99.99 yards will not be subject to house tax. However, properties measuring 100 yards or more will incur house tax, which will be calculated based on the plot size.
