Sheela Amma Reveals an Old Secret About Premanand Maharaj

A Brijwasi woman named Sheela has recently revealed a long-held secret about Sant Premanand Maharaj. She shared that Premanand Baba once resided in Banaras, where she and her husband, Shri Ram Sharma Ji, frequently visited. Her husband used to present Rasa performances in Banaras, and Premanand Maharaj would come to witness them.

Sheela Amma further recounted that after attending these performances, Premanand Maharaj approached her husband and requested to be taken to Vrindavan. In response, Shri Ram Sharma Ji told him that only those whom Banke Bihari Ji chooses are brought to Vrindavan. He assured Premanand Maharaj that when the time was right, Banke Bihari Ji would guide him there himself.

Premanand Maharaj’s Transformation in Vrindavan

Sheela Amma, who is now around 90 years old, described how Premanand Maharaj looked when she first saw him in Banaras. According to her, he had long dreadlocks and lived like a wandering ascetic. However, after arriving in Vrindavan, he dedicated himself to spreading the name of Radha. Despite facing health challenges, he continues to step out at night to bless his devotees with his presence.

She emphasized that even though his kidneys are in poor condition, Premanand Maharaj still ventures out at night. His selfless devotion is evident in the way he prioritizes his followers, ensuring that they receive his darshan despite his ailments. According to Sheela Amma, his nighttime walks are a testament to his deep compassion and unwavering commitment to his devotees.

Controversy Surrounding Premanand Maharaj’s Night Walks

Recently, Premanand Maharaj became the center of a major controversy. On Thursday, women from the NRI Green Colony in Vrindavan staged a strong protest against him, taking to the streets to voice their concerns. This demonstration quickly gained nationwide attention, leaving many curious about the reasons behind the unrest.

It was soon revealed that the protest was sparked by the nightly processions led by Premanand Maharaj. Every night at around 2 AM, he would walk with his disciples to the Shriradhakali Kunj Ashram, accompanied by thousands of devotees chanting bhajans and kirtans. The continuous noise from these late-night gatherings became a source of distress for local residents, prompting the women to take action.

Changes Made Following the Protest

In response to the outcry, Premanand Maharaj decided to alter the timing and location of his nighttime walks. This change was implemented to address the concerns of the residents while ensuring that devotees could continue their spiritual practice without causing disruptions. The situation highlights the delicate balance between devotion and public harmony in religious communities.
