Tecno Launches World’s Thinnest Slab Phone at MWC 2025

Tecno has unveiled the Tecno Spark Slim, claimed to be the world’s thinnest slab phone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025. According to leaked reports, this smartphone may be thinner than Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air. The Tecno Spark Slim boasts a remarkable thickness of just 5.75mm, excluding the camera bump.

The device features a 6.78-inch OLED screen with a 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals. It also comes equipped with dual 50MP cameras (main and ultra-wide) and is powered by a robust 5,200mAh battery for extended usage.

Intense Battle for Slimmest Smartphone Title

The competition for the slimmest smartphone is heating up. Ahead of Apple’s anticipated iPhone 17 Air, Samsung recently unveiled its ultra-thin model, the Samsung Galaxy Edge25, adding more excitement to the race.

Meanwhile, leaked reports suggest that Apple’s iPhone 17 Air may feature an impressive 5.44mm thickness, making it thinner than Tecno’s model. Similar to the Tecno Spark Slim, the iPhone 17 Air’s reported thickness also excludes the camera bump. Sources claim that Apple’s device may sport a thin camera bar with a single camera module.

When compared to Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max, which has a thickness of 8.25mm, the Tecno Spark Slim is significantly thinner. Additionally, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra is 8.2mm thick, making Tecno Spark Slim the clear winner in terms of slimness with its 5.75mm body.

Reports from Tech Radar further claim that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Air could be even slimmer than Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Slim, whose specifications are yet to be disclosed. The true winner in the race for the thinnest smartphone will only be revealed when both phones are officially launched.
