While stories of runaway couples, including son-in-law and mother-in-law, or affairs between family members, have made headlines in Uttar Pradesh, a new twist has emerged in Etawah. A woman has eloped with her father-in-law. The woman, a mother of three children, took along her two daughters and a substantial amount of jewelry worth lakhs from her home. This incident occurred in a village under the Usrahar police station area of Etawah district.
The husband, who has been searching for his wife for a month, has now resorted to seeking help from the police and officials, but his wife’s whereabouts remain unknown. Desperate, the husband has declared a reward of ₹20,000 for anyone who can help locate his wife. According to the husband, he worked as a car driver to support his family. He shared that on April 3, he had taken his car to Kanpur for some work.
Leaving Her Son Behind
The husband explained that upon returning from Kanpur, he discovered that his wife and two daughters had disappeared from home. Later, he found out that a man, who was his relative (his uncle), had eloped with his wife. The wife had left her son behind at the house, but took with her four rings, a necklace, a mangalsutra, and ₹50,000 in cash. The victim also mentioned that the former station officer had initially refused to register a case on April 3.
Station Officer’s Statement
The husband further stated that after some time, the police had finally accepted the complaint, changing it to a missing person’s case, but no serious efforts were made to find his wife. He has been desperately searching for her since April 3. Regarding the case, the Station Officer of Usrahar said that teams had been deployed to locate the woman. He assured that they would soon uncover the whereabouts of the woman and her father-in-law.
The case has raised eyebrows as it involves not only family betrayal but also a significant financial and emotional loss for the husband, who is now hoping for a breakthrough in the case.
