New Rules: Major Changes in Credit Card Benefits from April 1, 2025

Starting from the new financial year, i.e., April 1, 2025, significant changes will be implemented in credit card policies. These new rules will impact credit card users as many existing benefits will no longer be available. Additionally, there have been key decisions regarding annual credit card fees. Let’s take a look at which credit cards are affected and what the new regulations entail.

Key Changes Effective from April 1, 2025

IDFC First Bank has notified its Club Vistara IDFC First Credit Card holders that milestone benefits will be discontinued as of March 31, 2025. This means that cardholders will no longer be eligible for these benefits starting April 1. However, customers can continue earning Maharaja Points until March 31, 2026, after which the card will be permanently phased out.

Annual Fee Waiver for Select Customers

Several perks associated with the Club Vistara IDFC First Credit Card will no longer be available. These include:

  • The discontinuation of Club Vistara Silver membership.
  • The removal of complimentary vouchers, including premium economy tickets and one-class upgrade vouchers.
  • The cessation of milestone vouchers for premium economy tickets.

Despite these changes, customers will still be able to earn Maharaja Points until March 31, 2026, when the card is officially discontinued. Moreover, those renewing their cards after March 31, 2025, will be eligible for a one-year annual fee waiver.

Club Vistara SBI Credit Card Updates

  • The Club Vistara SBI Credit Card will no longer offer economy ticket vouchers.
  • Milestone benefits on annual spending of Rs 1.25 lakh, Rs 2.5 lakh, and Rs 5 lakh will be removed.
  • The Club Vistara SBI Prime Credit Card will no longer provide premium economy ticket vouchers.
  • The renewal fee for the base Club Vistara SBI Credit Card will be Rs 1,499, while the Prime variant will have a renewal fee of Rs 2,999.
  • However, a fee waiver option will still be available for eligible customers.

These changes mark a shift in the credit card landscape, reducing travel-related perks and altering the benefits structure for many cardholders. Users are advised to review their card benefits and plan accordingly.
